Hmm, I don't remember Rhoda, but there was Alice. My roommate has a tv but I'll probably never own one.

Good to see you posting again! I was beginning to think the blog was dying.

As a student I've lived without television for over two years and frankly have not missed it. These days content worth seeing finds you through the social filter, and is always available online.

Best of luck with the house... but don't let it cut into your blogging productivity again! It was a sad sad period between this and the tower of epic fail.

Brandon, as I think I told you, I gave my TV to some illegal Mexican laborers a while back, and really haven't missed it. Give it a try!

I think to counter the trend we should start a 24/7 "Wholesome Cuddling" channel.

People could pet horses, hug children, cuddle with cats, scratch dog's bellies, etc.

It would be at least as interesting as hole in the wall...b

Don't watch, "Deal or No Deal"-- a game show dedicated to stupid people pointing at briefcases. On a continuous ratio reinforcement schedule, the host tells contestants what a great job they're doing for confusing numerology with statistics. Watching it, I felt as dirty as the time I accidentally watched "E! News".

Now, if you're just looking to shut down your brain for a while without a moral hangover, I'd recommend "Hole in the Wall" on Fox. In this game show, contestants have to jump through holes in walls that advance towards them. Both the hole complexity and the wall speed increase as the show progresses. That's it. That's the whole 1 hour show. There's no attempt to intellectually rationalize what they're doing & they don't let the contestants talk too much. It's just people jumping through holes in walls. I love it.

That's why I like PBS's "Frontier House" and I hope to watch "Colonial House" soon. A little more wholesome of a reality show.
